About Johnson Yap

Johnson Yap is the CEO and founder of Score EPCC Sdn Bhd, a Sarawak-based CIDB Grade 7 company that specialises in engineering, procurement, consulting, construction and turnkey project management.

A civil engineer by training, he started his career as a structural engineer with Black & Veatch UK, a global engineering company specialising in infrastructure development.  His key client was Welsh Water where he was involved in managing various functions of the wastewater collection and transfer system.

In 2010, he left Black & Veatch to join Press Metal Sarawak and subsequently Press Metal Bintulu as Project Manager.  He was part of the core project team and was responsible for completing and commissioning the Press Metal Bintulu aluminium smelter in Sarawak, Malaysia.  

Johnson founded Score EPCC in 2016. With a strong team of over 400 core employees, the business has extensive experience in civil and structural work, delivery of large construction projects and installations, commissioning and maintenance, and project management services. His largest clients include Press Metal Bintulu, Press Metal Sarawak and PMB Silicon where he manages the maintenance matters for the smelter plants and is a key partner in the expansion and construction projects.
