Krista is a Venture Partner of NEXEA in the Australian division with the aim of bridging the gap internationally for startups and investors. Krista is a successful institutional and angel investor based in Sydney, Australia. Krista’s global journey began over 20 years ago as an engineer in the USA for one of the world’s largest engineering services companies. Krista gained experience as an operator, product development manager and technical instructor in multiple countries before settling in Australia.  Krista became a successful investor and fund manager with Macquarie Group, and launched the Australia/NewZealand office for a global VC fund as one of the founding team where she then led the fund as country manager and as its investment analyst.  

Krista built a successful research team in the Energy sector for Australia’s largest stockbroker, covering pre-IPO and listed companies. She has worked as a CFO and senior advisor in an education technology startup at the Series A and Series B levels and is an active mentor, angel investor and advisor through Sydney Angels, UNSW Founders, Energy Lab and Startmate.  Krista has a strong interest in Climate Tech and the energy transition and is a Startmate Fellow and Coach. 

Krista has an BS (geosciences), MS(marine biogeochemistry), and MBA(international economics and management). She uses her diverse global experience to help investors with due diligence and startup founders with investor communications and growth strategy.  Krista runs a successful consultancy in investor relations, strategy, and ESG. As a venture partner of NEXEA, Krista is committed to identifying and investing in promising startups, helping them to achieve their full potential and make a positive impact in the community.
